More awesome visitors…

Neal’s brother Nephi and sister Kira and her little girl Anna came and stayed with us this last week. We had so much fun and are so glad they got to come and visit. We’ve been in 7th heaven having so much family visiting!

Here are some highlights of this last week:

Went to Dodgers game, sat in awesome seats a few rows from the field (thanks to some friends who hooked us up). We met Kate Voegele, she sang the National Anthem and was nice enough to take a pictures with us, then instead of running right off she stopped and talked for a while. She was seriously so sweet!

Oh and Anna met Woody, she loved it!

Everyone was taking a picture with this guy so we thought we should too and then we would Google him later. Found out he is Shawn from the local “Go Country” radio station. (No wonder it was so easy to get a picture with him)

Went to Downtown Disney, ate at Rainforest Cafe, and watched the Disney fireworks.

We went to Balboa Island and Laguna Beach

Jasper just had to be by his favorite person so he climbed up on the sand hill…

Anna loved on Jasper everyday. She does this thing where she acts like she is Jasper and when Jasper picked up his toy in his mouth and started flinging it around, she picked up her blanket in her mouth and started flinging it around…too funny! She’s one fun little 2 year old and quite smart at that!

While on our way to Hollywood, a Michael Jackson song came on and a few minutes into it Anna yells “Hey, it’s Michael Jackson!”

We had a blast with you Nephi, Kira and Anna…please come again soon! Miss ya already!

Truslow Park Service and a little early Birthday Goodness...

This morning we went and did a community service project. It was building a playground at Truslow Park in Fullerton. There were over 300 volunteers and the playground gets built, painted, and landscaped all in one day! It was amazing to see so many people come together and make a difference.





This afternoon my good friends Ami, Sarah, AubRee, and Shonee took me out to lunch for my Birthday, (which is this coming Wednesday). We went to Chilis and I got this amazing free desert! Thank you to you all --it was fun!




SIDE NOTES:
1.We felt our first, second and third Earthquakes! It was pretty crazy feeling. They didn't last long and nothing fell off the walls or anything crazy. The apartment just shook. One was 3.8 and another was a 4.0

2.My bosses gave me this beautiful flowering plant for Administrative Professional's Day which was April 22! I truly feel so blessed to have such a wonderful job.
3. Neal's brother Nephi and his friend Shawn came and stayed with us this last week to enjoy some California sunshine! They were great guests as always!

Neal's brother Nephi and his best friend Shawn came and stayed with us this last week. We picked them up the same night we dropped off Neal's parents and this is what we saw when the walked off the plane....

It was so funny to watch people as they noticed what they were wearing! I love that these two don't care what ANYONE thinks!

While they were here, Neal had school and I had work so they pretty much entertained themselves...sorry guys! But we did get to do a couple of fun things with them like miniature golfing at Camelot, Huntington beach and ate at Ruby's, went to the Reflections of Christ traveling exhibit, and we also went to Chinatown in LA, but they spent most of their time playing COD5 (aka: Call Of Duty 5). Boys will be boys! :) They are such easy company and so polite. I hope they can come again soon!

Happy Birthday Nephi!

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY TO NEPHI!

Today is Nephi's birthday (Neal's brother and Angie's brother-in-law)

In celebration of his 22 years of life we want to share some things with you about Nephi:

1. Nephi has had the same size head all growing up.

2. You can name any Dave Matthews Band song and he can play it on the guitar.
3. You can always tell when Nephi is in deep thought because he will have his hand up to his nose sniffing his fingers while he wiggles them.
4. All the ladies flock to him and love him, but he doesn't even know it.......or doesn't even care.

5. He is one of the most creative people I know.
6. Without him knowing, every once in while Nephi will pose. We even have a picture of Nephi in the middle of his one-of-a-kind Nephi poses. I think this is one of the reasons the ladies flock toward him.

7. Probably the most easy-going person you will ever meet.
8. He is one of the few people on earth that can actually make fun of you to your face, and you won't get offended. In fact, you will laugh with him and start making fun of yourself.
9. If you ever see Nephi at a dance, plant yourself beside him because you will see the coolest moves ever made up by a person. Everybody in the Price is Right audience got to see his dancing skills first hand when he was able to dance on their stage before the taping.

10. When we were younger, Nephi would be known to run off to the neighborhood convenient store and buy a bag of candy, but, what was really cool, he would always think of me, and buy me a bag of jerky.
11. Usually in a family, the older brother will always try to find a way to get away from his younger brother because he is annoying. This is not the case with me. My whole life I have considered Nephi my best friend, and have always tried to find ways to get closer to him.

We love you Nephi, hope you have a great birthday!!! See you in a couple of weeks!

Welcome Home Elder....

Neal's brother Nephi, finally got home from serving a 2 year mission in Toronto, Canada. On January 4th, Nephi was supposed to fly into the IF airport at 5:30 pm. Tim and Kira (Neal's sister and husband) were driving up from SLC for this and their car breaks down. Don't worry they made it in time. Nephi called a little after 5:00 and told us that his plane was delayed and he wouldn't be flying in until 8:45 pm. We arrived at the airport and as we walked in we heard over the speakers, no flights will be leaving or landing the airport due to slick runway conditions...there's no way they'd do that when his plane is right over head. Well, Nephi's plane headed back to SLC. All the family and friends that were there were so disappointed that they wouldn't get to see Nephi. But, we were determined to get him home, we were willing to drive to SLC to get him. But Neal, being a hero, thinks to call the shuttle place and got the last shuttle and one of the last seats out, so that Nephi could get home. So at 2:30 am January 5th, Nephi's shuttle pulled into the gas station across from the Olive Garden...what a welcome home! :) We sure are glad you're home Nephi! We stayed up and did Christmas with Neal's family and by 6:30 am we were all pooped! It was a great Christmas!!!
