Spring Break 2010...

This last week Neal was on Spring Break...and boy was it needed! It was so great to be able to spend time with him after he's been studying like crazy and practically living at the school. His parents were able to come down and spend time with us. We love family and visitors so when our family is our visitors we are in a state of PURE BLISS!


We played pinochle many times, by the pool, on the beach and at our home. It was the ladies against the men and the men won (not because they were good but because they got lucky hands) haha. I mean come on..2 double pinochle's in a row!!! Unbelievable!




We also found a new little fav place to eat...Rubio's (loved it!)

We went whale watching and to Balboa Island, it was so fun and such a great experience. We saw a couple of whale's, dolphins, sea lions, and lots of seagulls. The weather was amazing the day we went so no one got sea sick because it was so calm. Balboa Island....SO FUN! If you haven't been it's a must. It's just a quaint little town with ships in the habor, cute little beachfront houses, and some fun shopping. We are definitely going back, we didn't get to spend enough time there to fully enjoy all there is to do.

Neal and I went to the Los Angeles Temple because Newport Beach was closed for maintenance and we haven't been there yet. Talk about huge rooms! It was the biggest temple I've been to. It was beautiful and nothing beats the feeling you have while in the temple.

We stayed the night in Laguna Beach, did some window shopping, went to the beach where we also played pinochle, and went geo-cashing. This was Jasper's first time at the beach and he LOVED it.

On December 19th my sister Heather got married to Mark in the Idaho Falls Temple. They are the perfect couple and we are so happy for them. We felt so grateful we were able to attend. It was a beautiful ceremony and once again I felt so overcome with gratitude knowing that because of these ordinances that we do within the walls of our temples we are able to be an eternal family.

Here are a few pics of the wonderful day. She did a peacock wedding with her colors being blue and pear green with silver. It was beautiful and so was she!

Halloween Party and Pfau’s Sealing

This weekend started off our Halloween Happenings. The Optometry school’s SSA put on the first Halloween Party. It was a lot of fun. Neal and I won “Best Couple” costume. We were Edward and Bella from Twilight! (Neal’s idea I swear!) Neal even put glitter on his skin to sparkle like Edward’s does in the sun! You can’t really see it in the pictures but it was pretty awesome!

My sister had the idea to spray paint tree branches black and put cobwebs in them for decorations, we decided to miniaturize them and instead used them as centerpieces, pretty cute! Thanks Holl!

The winner’s of the costume competition: The Scariest- Richardson’s, Best Couple-Us, Best Overall- Neville’s, and Most Creative-Owens

A first year couple Zack and Krystal Pfau and their daughter Ruby, got sealed in the San Diego temple yesterday and we were able to go. It was a neat experience to watch them make this step to becoming an eternal family. I got all emotional as Ruby was sealed to them, I was thinking how wonderful it was that Neal and I were sealed in the temple and because of that Jayden will be part of our eternal family forever. I would never want to lose him or Neal and I feel so grateful for the blessing of the Temple and being an eternal family!

Jayden's Due Date

Today was Jayden's due date. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I got through the day. It definitely wasn't as hard as I thought it might be and I can say I've had harder days.

Neal and I went to the 7 AM session at the Newport Beach Temple and when we got back, there were 4 beautiful roses laying on our doorstep. (Don't know who did it but it was truly so thoughtful, it made me cry...thank you). We also received a card from one of our labor and delivery nurses that had remembered Jayden's due date--I tell you those nurses were AMAZING! So grateful for such wonderful people! Thank you to everyone for your texts, emails, and phone calls. It meant so much that you would remember. You truly have been angels that have made this trial easier.

Neal and I could feel Jayden with us at the temple, what a sweet tender mercy from our Father in Heaven. We love you Jayden and can't wait to be with you forever! You will always be remembered and loved by many.

After the temple, Neal had school and I went to work. Then I went to my photography class that just started and Neal studied for his test tomorrow. I truly believe that we were sustained through the day because of our sweet experience in the temple and from all the prayers said in our behalf.

Enjoying family and my 24th Birthday. . .

This last week I had a great birthday present...my parents and my grandparents came to visit. Neal woke up and made me breakfast for my birthday and when our guests got here we went to Cheesecake Factory for my birthday dinner YUM!

We brought home the cheesecake and everyone sang again...really if it's your birthday you can't get enough of the Birthday Song! And would you look at that prego belly! WOW it's getting big!

The next day we went to Ontario to a free U/S clinic so they could see Baby Guymon. It was fun for them to be there. Once again our baby was pronounced a boy, with big feet :) Afterward we did a little shopping at the Ontario Mills Outlet Mall. That evening we went to the Fullerton Farmer's Market and enjoyed the fresh fruit!

Friday we went to LA to visit the Museum of Tolerance. It was a great reminder that we must be careful or history may repeat itself. At the beginning of the exhibit they gave us a card with a child's name and picture on it and at the end they gave us a print out of the child to see if they lived or survived the Holocaust. One of the things I will never forget was near the end of the exhibit they have you walk through this gate that looked like the ones they had at the concentration/death camps. As you walk through the gate you realize that most people that walked through were never going to return. It was very touching experience and of course I cried.Here are my parents cooling off their feet after being on them all day!

I know random picture to stick in but I had to post Neal's eye model which he spent hours on! Plus he's just so good looking....

Saturday we drove to the San Diego Temple. It is a beautiful temple inside and out! We also stopped at Laguna Beach afterwards and heard and saw a lot of seals.

We had such a wonderful time with you Mom and Dad Bodily and Grandma and Grandpa Olsen. So glad you were able to come visit. Can't wait until you come again! Love you guys!

New Port Temple

We were able to go to the New Port Temple for the first time last week. It's about 30-40 minutes away. It's a beautiful temple and we had a great time. I love the calm, peaceful feeling at the temple. I feel blessed there is one close enough to go to regularly. We went with the Barney's and afterward we went and ate at Cheesecake Factory (Neal's all time favorite restaurant!)

Braxton’s Sealing

I know this is really late to be posting about these things, but this is one of those days to catch up on my blog. On July 19th Braxton was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple to Zach and Holly. It was such a neat experience to see Zach, Holly, Braxton and Brooklyn all in white and know that they will have the blessing to be together for eternity. Braxton’s birth mother Shanna, her brother and her parents all came up for the sealing and blessing. It was great to meet them; I truly have such a deep respect and love for them to be able to do something so selfless. Here’s some picture at the temple that day.
