Word for 2012…

I’ve decided that my word for the year is going to be FAITH. I want to increase my faith and as President Thomas Monson said

“My beloved brothers and sisters, fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith.”

I love that!!!  As Neal and I have many exciting things this year it will also be one that we will have to rely on and increase our Faith, especially as Neal finishes up school and searches for a job. There are many unknowns but we are excited to see where things go and where we will end up!

Here’s to a WONDERFUL 2012 filled with FAITH!image

New Year’s Resolution 2010…

If you remember last year I decided I would start choosing a word for the year instead of a list of New Year Resolutions that I probably wouldn’t meet. Last year my word was “Create” which I feel went pretty well. Of course there is always room for improvement but this was my first year with the one word resolution so I will continue to learn and improve in the future.
NINE highlights for the year 2009 were:
1. Neal and I had a beautiful son Jayden May 30th
2. We got a new dog Jasper
3. A new nephew Kolbin was born
4. My sister Heather and Mark got married, and every single person in my immediate family was in the temple…so amazing!
5. We moved into a two bedroom apartment in the same complex
6. Neal started his second year of optometry school and has done very well.
7. We have been able to do a lot of fun things and have met some wonderful friends while living in California. Seriously love Disney and the sunny weather!!
8. I learned new talents by doing projects, especially sewing.
9. We gained more faith in Jesus Christ through our experiences this year.

This year my word will be EMBRACE.  I want to more fully embrace life and all that’s good! I’m looking forward to “Embracing 2010!”

"God expects you not simply to face the future; He expects you to EMBRACE and shape the future- to love it, rejoice in it, and delight in your opportunities. God is eagerly waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe."

New Year 2009!!!

I've decided instead of making a bunch of resolutions that I would never keep that I would choose a word for the year and apply it into my life. My sis Holly gave me the idea and I just love it! Thanks Holl! So the word I've chosen for 2009 is Create I've based it off of Elder Ucthdorf's talk at the General Relief Society Conference. He said "Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty--" He also said " Do not let fear of failure discourage you... what you create doesn't have to be perfect, just start small. Try to see how many smiles you can create, write a letter of appreciation, learn a new skill, identify a space and beautify it. "
Some definitions of CREATE are make or cause to be or to become; bring into existence; pursue a creative activity; be engaged in a creative activity; create by artistic means

I'm just so excited to use this word this year. I want to create a happy and peaceful home, good habits, a healthy body, new talents and skills, more love...oh there is just so much! Here's to 2009 and creating the best year ever! :)

Neal's word for 2009 is ACTION.

We spent New Year's Eve with the Bodily's! We had a blast! We did our annual Wii Tournament that night and played a new game... Bunco (a dice rolling game)! My parents got some really cool prizes for Bunco to win. I got this awesome cheese grater from IKEA! I think this may be the beginning of a new tradition! :)

Grandma and Grandpa Olsen and Mom and Dad Bodily playing Bunco.

My Grandparents joined us for New Years and even stayed up until 1:30 AM with us! I was very impressed!

THE CHAMPION IS. . .Krystal!

She won the bowling Wii tournament and Jordan (her husband) lost to her.

We had lots and LOTS of good food too

This is what we all felt like doing after all the fun--WE WERE WIPED OUT!
Thanks for the good times family---we love you!
