The day we moved in there were some pretty close fires in neighboring cities. The smoke was very thick and we had piles of ash outside the next couple of days. It was pretty crazy. People from around here were saying they haven't had a fire this close in 30 years! Houses and apartment complexes got destroyed in the fire. We didn't have to be evacuated but Neal's Optometry school Basketball tournament got postponed because the place it was going to be was being used as a refuge center.
