Hanford, CA…our new home

So we made it after a long ALL night drive. Neal is enjoying his 3rd rotation at the Lemoore Naval Air Station and we are loving having him home early. We’re here until the middle of February and then off to Salt Lake City!  Here’s a few pics of what our new place looks like.

Like our coffee table/computer desk? :) We feel like we’re newly weds all over again because this apartment reminds us of the first apartment we lived in when we were first married, Madison Park. Here’s to Hanford and the next 3 months!

Life is Wonderful. . .

BECAUSE #1:We got an early Christmas present from Mom and Dad Guymon and I couldn't be more excited. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

These beauties....were purchased from Craigslist and got used immediately after purchase---- with all the mustard mishap :) (Sorry, only Mom and Dad Guymon will understand that!) I can't believe how much simpler life is now having them in our apartment!

BECAUSE #2 We met up with Jessica and Eric Strebel, some of our best friends from Idaho, on Saturday. We went and hung out at the Long Beach Mall with them before they flew out to go back to Idaho. It was a short little visit but well worth seeing them!

Us and the Strebel's
(Notice they look all tan because they just got back from a cruise...don't mind my pasty self)

BECAUSE #3 We decorated for Christmas and can listen to all the Christmas music we want! It's my favorite time of the year AND we get to go home in 2 weeks!

Life truly is wonderful....

The finished product...

So, if you all knew what an ugly dresser we had before. I didn't take a picture, although I wish I had! I'll try and describe it. It was brown fading and had scruffs on it, the drawer handles were gold and looked like door knockers. So Neal and I decided to sand it down and paint it black instead of buying a new one. Here's the finished product! It only cost about $30 to paint, sand, and buy new handles, much better than a $200 dresser! We do have to give a shout out to my parents who gave us the dresser in the first place...Thank you Mom and Dad Bodily! While we were at it,we decided with the left over paint to paint our nightstand, which was white and stained. Plus now it matches the dresser. They both turned out much better than expected! Gotta love projects around the house!

Dumpster Table

Neal’s dad always goes dumpster diving and finds the best stuff! Last summer he found car seats, a stroller, and a rocking chair. So on one of those days that he went dumpster diving, he found our new dining table…. . . we absolutely love it! It matches our other black furniture and is in great condition. It has a couple of scuffs but we’re not complaining, it was free! So with the money we got from our garage sale, Neal and I went and found some chairs for the table. So we pretty much got the new dining set for free. Gotta love it! Here’s our new pride and joy, Thank you to Neal’s parents!!!
