Keck’s Come to Visit …

My sister Krystal and her husband Jordan and baby Kolbin came to visit us this last week! We LOVED having them here and miss them already! We had lots of fun and hit up many beaches, did some shopping (thanks for putting up with us Jordan), got them addicted to the TV series Prison Break, and introduced them to Cheesecake Factory, Yogurtland, Rubio's, Ruby's and IN N' OUT.

Day 1: They flew in on Monday and we headed strait to Laguna beach because that was supposed to be the nicest day. We changed in the bathroom and it was Kolbin's first time at a beach, he loved eating the sand...needless to say there were some sandy diapers for a few days after :)

Day 2: We met up with Jordan's sister's boyfriend Larin at Huntington Beach and he taught Jordan how to surf. We had to take Jasper with us because the bug man came to our house and we couldn't be in there for 3 hours...dog's aren't allowed on this beach we soon found out by the life guards :) so we had to walk around while Jordan learned to surf, but he did get up and loved it! We then walked around the Farmer's Market they have there and sampled some fresh fruit...yum!

Day 3: Balboa Island...one of our new favorite places to go! We ate at Ruby's on the Pier, rode the ferry, ate the famous Balboa Bar---amazing stuff, they take homemade ice cream, dip it in chocolate and you get to choose a topping to put on it. It was really windy and cold (but Krystal and Jordan just said I was a wussy and that it wasn't that cold)

Balboa Bars....YUM!

That other guy in the picture is Larin (Jordan's sister's boyfriend)

Day 4: We went the the Ontario Mills Outlet Mall. Just love every time I go there, especially the store V Generation (I said "v" when I was telling Neal, but I was informed it's actually the roman numeral for 5, yes I know roman numerals just thought V is more common ;) We also ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Always so good, always will love.

Day 5:  We hung out at the pool. While we enjoyed the sun Krystal and I read our books! The boys went golfing later in the afternoon and we went shopping looking for some sandals. That night we went to Yogurtland.

Day 6: Conference, fire on the beach of Bolsa Chica, and the homeless guy Scott.

We went to the famous IN N’ OUT Burger.  That night we went to  Bolsa Chica, which we found out is a dog beach (we’re taking Jasper back next time) and roasted star-bursts. It was really windy and took a bit to get the fire started. Good thing we got some good boy scouts that could start it. We watched the sun set , it was so gorgeous.

When it started to get dark out of no where a guy came up to our fire carrying a pan that had some shrimp in it. He said “hey brother’s and sista’s, do you mind if I share your fire?” We agreed and started talking to him. His name was Scott and he told us he was homeless. Then he said that he had just gotten out of jail a couple weeks ago! I looked at Krystal like let’s get out of here! But Neal and Jordan kept talking to him. He ended up being a really nice guy, he finished cooking his shrimp and offered some to all of us. Neal and Jordan tried some and said it tasted really good. But after they said that their stomachs were hurting a little. I think it was just in their heads!! We kept talking to him for about 30 minutes then he told us where he had been sleeping the last couple days. He pointed over to a porta-potty and said "in that mexican space shuttle" It was pretty funny. He was a great guy, he roasted some star-bursts with us and then we decided to go. It was a great night.

Our friend Scott with  his homies :)

Day 7: Easter, Conference, and an earthquake.

Easter was great we had a amazing meal, we watched us some conference…which is always amazing and uplifting! We went to our friend Eva’s birthday party and there was quite a big earthquake-- a Magnitude 7.2 in the Baja of California, Mexico, but it was felt up to Arizona and Nevada! It was a different feeling one that we’ve never really felt before. It was more swaying than shaky as it was farther away from us. It made us dizzy and lasted quite a while. What a fun experience for our visitors! :)image

Day 8: Sunset Beach, Neal did eye exam on Krystal and Jordan

On their last day we went to Sunset beach and watched kite boarders. It was really windy and we didn't stay long but it was great! Then that night we went to Neal's school and he gave Jordan and Krystal a free " partial " eye exam. They said afterwards that Neal will be a great Eye doctor and it got Jordan excited to get going with his schooling :) That’s my man…love ya Neal!

Thanks for coming you guys! We sure love ya!
