with school, he’s in his 3rd year and has only about 1 1/2 years left, next year is purely rotations…crazy how time flies! This is what Neal’s been up to lately:
Studying, Studying, Studying,Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying,Studying, Studying, Studying, Studying,Studying, Studying---and yes MORE Studying
This was obviously NOT taken this quarter but in the earlier, better days :o)
*12 stations is over! We have heard about 12 stations for forever. 12 stations is a clinical exam that tests the students skills of everything they have learned thus far. They have to get a 75% to pass a station and are only allowed 1 retake. If they don’t pass, then they have to retake the class which holds them back a year. Neal did very well! He passed 11 of the 12 stations! It is common for students to fail at least one, and usually more. I’m so proud of you Neal, way to go honey!
*We have picked our 4th year rotation spots! So Exciting! Picks were a semi-complicated process that started this summer. A computer randomly assigns a number to each member in the class. Neal got 33. What this number meant was that Neal would be the 33rd person in his class of 100 to pick his profile numbers. A profile number is a set of numbers, one for each quarter. When Neal’s turn came he picked: 18, SCCO, 69, and 32. This meant that for the 1st quarter Neal was pick 18 for a rotation site in the summer, at the school in the fall, pick 69 in the winter, and 32 in the spring. Here is where we are going:
Summer: Kaiser: San Dimas, CA (it’s about 40 min from where we live now )
Fall: SCCO (the school clinic)
Winter: Lemoore Naval Base: Fresno, CA
Spring: VA SLC: Salt Lake City, UT
* Thanks to Sarah who let me steal her wording of 12 stations and rotation picks so that all my family could understand it back home! *
